Ben Holtzclaw, Executive Search Consultant at Lee Group Search, partners with clean and renewable energy companies and candidates across the United States to make thoughtful, long-term talent matches.
Ben joined Lee Group Search in 2023 after earning a degree in economics from James Madison University. Drawn to work that combines analytical thinking with meaningful relationships, he found recruiting to be a natural fit: a career where strategy, problem-solving, and helping people come together.
In his work with clients, Ben focuses on understanding more than the requirements listed in a job description. He takes the time to learn how a company operates, what its team needs, and what will make someone successful within the organization. On the candidate side, he brings that same level of attention to career goals, motivations, and long-term fit.
Ben approaches executive search with a strong belief in teamwork and treating people well. One principle has stayed with him throughout his career: the Golden Rule. As he puts it, “We treat each other and other people how we would like to be treated.” That mindset shapes the way he communicates with clients and candidates and the relationships he works to build throughout the search process.
His analytical nature also plays an important role in his recruiting style. A longtime lover of strategy, numbers, and competition, Ben brings curiosity and a thoughtful, problem-solving mindset to each search, particularly when finding the right person requires looking beyond the obvious candidates.
Outside of work, Ben is an avid sports fan. He has played competitive tennis for much of his life and more recently developed a love for golf. He also enjoys following basketball and spending time with the people closest to him.
